Day 1: Depart from Athens and travel along the scenic coastal road to the Corinth Canal, where you will make a short stop to admire this engineering marvel. Continue to Epidaurus and visit the famous Theatre of Epidaurus, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Proceed to the picturesque town of Nauplion, where you can take a short stop to explore its charming streets. Continue to Mycenae and visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Depart for Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, and enjoy a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: In the morning, explore the Archaeological Site of Olympia, where you will discover the sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium, and the Archaeological Museum. Afterward, drive through the plains of Ilia and Achaia, crossing the Corinthian Bay via the magnificent bridge from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea before arriving in Delphi for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Start your day with a visit to the Archaeological Site and Museum of Delphi, where you will uncover the mysteries of this ancient site. Depart for Kalambaka, a charming town nestled at the foot of the astonishing Meteora rock formations. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Kalambaka.
Day 4: Explore the breathtaking Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its monasteries perched atop towering rocks. Marvel at the exquisite Byzantine art and soak in the awe-inspiring views. Depart from Kalambaka and drive through the scenic plain of Thessaly, passing by the Valley of Tempi and the majestic Mount Olympus. Day 7: Visit Pella, the capital of Alexander the Great, and marvel at the exquisite floor mosaics in the villas of the 4th century B.C. Explore the Archaeological Park of Dion, a sacred city of the Macedonians at the foot of Mount Olympus. As you drive south, pass through Thessaly, Lamia, Thermopylae (stop to see the Leonidas' Monument), and Thebes before arriving in Athens in the late afternoon, where the tour concludes.
Note: Ladies visiting the monasteries are required to wear skirts, and gentlemen should wear long trousers.
